Each year the West returns store profits back to the community in the form of grants to qualified charitable organizations in the Tucson area. Our 2017 Grant Recipients provide vital services to members of our local communities. Recipients include the following organizations:

AVIVA CHILDREN’S SERVICES – To support the remodeling, furnishing, and equipping of the new Aviva Family Visit Center – South.

BLESSINGS IN A BACKPACK (BLOOM & SEWELL ELEMENTARY) – To provide qualifying students with weekend backpacks containing two breakfasts and two lunches.

EMERGE! CENTER AGAINST DOMESTIC ABUSE – To provide client assistance to participants in the housing program, overflow hotel program, emergency shelter, and community-based services for women and children leaving domestic violence situations.

ERIK HITE FOUNDATION—To allow for replacement of items used daily in the Child Development Center, which provides child-care for Tucson’s First Responders.

MIRACLE SQUARE – To provide for maintenance and annual monitoring fees for the emergency pendant alarm system for the elderly and disabled adults living independently on the property.

MOBILE MEALS OF TUCSON – To provide special diet meals to homebound adults who are elderly or disabled and cannot cook or shop for themselves; funds support daily meal procurement, preparation, and delivery.

NATIVE AMERICAN ADVANCEMENT FOUNDATION – To support the Gu-Vo Academic Summer Youth Adventure Program, which helps build youths’ self-esteem and promotes education focused on reading, math, technology, and health education.

SHYANN KINDNESS PROJECT – To serve and put smiles on the faces of underprivileged, at-risk, and medically fragile children by providing fun and needed gifts (e.g., books, craft items, school supplies), while promoting and teaching kindness and acceptance of all people.

SISTER JOSE’S WOMEN’S CENTER – To expand services to homeless women in Tucson, including purchase of breakfast foods, bottled water, and personal hygiene products to the women who use the shelter each day.

WEEKEND BLESSINGS BAGS PROGRAM (WHEELER ELEMENTARY) – To provide food on weekends to the school’s children who participate in the National School Lunch program.
