Each year the West returns store profits back to the community in the form of grants to qualified charitable organizations in the Tucson community. 2024 grantees include the following organizations:

AVIVA CHILDREN’S SERVICES: Since 1978, changing lives of more than 3000 children in foster care each year by providing emergency resources, ongoing family support, and comprehensive behaviorial health services. https://www.avivatucson.org/ 

CANDLELIGHTERS CHILDHOOD CANCER FOUNDATION OF SOUTHERN ARIZONA: Formed in 1985, Candlelighters supports, serves, and advocates for children and adolescents with cancer and other blood disorders, their families, long term survivors, bereaved families, and the professionals that care for them. https://candlelightersaz.org

CHILDREN’S ADVOCACY CENTER OF SOUTHERN ARIZONA: Established in 1996, the Center provides a safe, compassionate, healing environment for children who have been a victim or witness to a crime. https://www.cacsoaz.org/

EAGLES WINGS OF GRACE: A faith-based organization formed in 2007, their mission is to improve the capabilities of women to be economically independent. They provide a network of support and professional attire to restore dignity, purpose and hope, moving from devastation to destiny. https://eagleswingsofgrace.org/

EMERGE CENTER AGAINST DOMESTIC ABUSE: Emerge provides the opportunity to create, sustain, and celebrate a life free from abuse. https://emergecenter.org/

ERIK HITE FOUNDATION: Founded in 2011, the Erik Hite Foundation supports Southern Arizona’s first responders and their families by providing extended hours childcare/early education, summer camp scholarsips, and adult life skills training and counseling for challenges associated with first responder high-risk occupations. https://erikhitefoundation.org/

MAKE WAY FOR BOOKS: Make Way for Books received the 2022 Library of Congress American Prize, which is awarded for significan and measurable contribution to increasing literacy levels in the United States. Their mission is to give all children the chance to read and succeed through their early literacy programs, services, and resources.

SISTER JOSÉ WOMEN’S CENTER: Sister José is dedicated to the care and nurture of women experiencing homelessness in a welcoming and safe environment. https://www.srjosewomensshelter.org/

THE TUCSON FAMILY FOOD PROJECT: Everyday in Tucson approximately 48,000 children in Tucson struggle with food insecurity. Each Friday, The Tucson Family Food Project provides the children in their program with a meal kit that will feed at least four people. They don’t just feed the child, but the whole household. The meal kits are provided raw, and allows the children to gain an essential life skill — giving them a weekly lesson in how to prepare food. https://www.thetucsonfamilyfoodproject.org/

VAIL WEEKEND BACKPACK PROGRAM: ReSources Vail Food Bank in collaboration with St. Rita in the Desert Outreach provides weekend nutritional support for Vail School District students. https://resourcesvail.org/

WHEELS FOR KIDS: Founded in 2007, Wheels for Kids’ mission is to collect used bikes, completely overhaul them, ensure they work well, look good, and are safe to operate – and then, through partner charitable organizations, give them to low income, distressed, or underprivileged kids, teens, and adults in greater Tucson.

YOUTH ON THEIR OWN (YOTO): Established in 1986, YOTO is a dropout prevention program that supports the high school graduation and continued success of youth experiencing homelessness in Pima County. https://yoto.org/
